Plastic Concepts, Inc. designs and manufactures laboratory and chemical process equipment which includes mechanical assembly of plumbing, electrical, pumps, air filtration, fans/blowers, and exhaust ventilation ducting.
We fabricate plastic furniture, process tanks and equipment assemblies from polypropylene, PVC, polycarbonate, acrylic and other types of plastic sheet materials. Our standard method of assembly is with a thermoplastic hand-held hot air fusion welding tool along with solvent bonding, mechanical fasteners (standard and metric), manual and CNC machining.
Plastic fabrication experience is a plus but not required. Woodworking, metal fabrication, machine shop, or similar trade construction experience is desired.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Some plumbing, electrical, controls, and exhaust ventilation experience
- Shop fabrication experience
- Plastic fabrication experience a plus
- Experience in woodworking/carpentry, sheet metal, metal welding, construction, CNC machining
Proficiencies:
- Reading Drawings
- Basic math; decimals, fractions, geometry
- Understanding material yields
- Must be able to safely demonstrate proper use of power tools: table saws, routers, jigsaw, drills, band saw, .etc.

Full time hours – Mon – Friday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm (min of 40hrs)
During peak production must work overtime to finish projects including nights or weekends

Hiring Skill Levels:
Tradesman
Skilled craftsman, capable of decision making, completing within the budgeted time frame to produce a quality meticulous product to all drawing specifications with minimal assistance.
Minimum 3/5+ years related experience and/or trade school training.
Journeyman
Moderately skilled craftsman, able to start and finish project tasks efficiently with minimal supervision to produce a quality product accurate to dimensional drawing specifications.
Minimum 2/3+ years related experience and/or trade school training.
Apprentice
Dependable and diligent work ethic, able and willing to learn new tasks with training.
Minimum 1/2+ years related experience and/or trade school training.

Leading plastic fabrication company searching for engineers and designers who can take an active role in our company’s day-to-day operations from sales, client meetings, job costing, manufacturing support, testing, installations, customer follow-up, documentation controls.
Responsibilities:
- Create 3D models of parts and assembly drawings
- Prepares estimate budgets with sales staff, gathering proposals, specifications, and related documents
- Develop complete BOM, source components, vendors procurement order procedure of materials
- Interface with clients and vendors as need including travel. Drawing review with clients and vendors
- Daily – review drawings with fabricators, update drawing changes as developed
- Hands-on assistance with fabrication assemblies in the shop, field service installation, and service calls
- Test and sign off QC reports of completed projects. Final “as-built” drawing updates
- Manage projects, ensure labor and material budgets are met. Address change cost adders outside of the budget
- Good Practices of Documentation control, Configuration Management, PDM, ISO 9001, and Material Certifications
- Ergonomic & Structural load calculation design
- Handle working on multiple projects at a time
Qualifications:
- Mechanical Engineering Design, Associates or Bachelors

Compensation range: (Pending education/training, experience, and demonstration of skill level)
Designers: $20-35 per hour
